RESPECT

Respect.
A single 7 letter word that set me off thinking.
Any views in mind?
Here to post my three cents after some thoughts.

"Respect is an assumption of good faith and competence in another person or in the whole of oneself. Depth of integrity, trust, complementary moral values, and skill are necessary components."

"Esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person, a personal quality or ability, or something considered as a manifestation of a personal quality or ability."

Both taken from wikipedia, the second an attempt at defining respect, except that this case is more of the respect of somebody who has more authority.

Does one lose respect gradually?

I would say yes, perhaps it's even natural.
One might just unconsciously lose some self-control.
And poof.
Things start to deteriorate if not nipped in the bud.
The downhill road.

So how do you get back up again?

Be more mindful of your actions?

Try to zip up your mouth to prevent words from leaking?

The second can be a double-edged sword, it may work or it won't.
When it doesn't then the projected image would be:

Stoner.

Definitely a far cry from the "respect" image intended.

But I definitely will try to keep that in mind.
A solution might pop up in the brain.

That should be the end of my three cents.
Think whatever you like.
I don't care.
Just my honest three cents.
Three because I gave it much thought over.

Perhaps we found out too late.
There's not much time left.
Just 7 more days.
One last week.
So let's try to make the best of it.
